How to Export TikTok Giveaway Entries to Excel

· 3 min read

A TikTok giveaway can bring in hundreds or thousands of comments quickly. The challenge is turning those entries into a file you can review consistently—not trying to judge a long live comment thread by eye.

This workflow helps creators, agencies, and campaign teams export available public comments, check entries against published rules, remove duplicates, and document a transparent draw. It is practical guidance, not legal advice.

Start with the published rules

Before exporting anything, copy the giveaway rules into a note. Record the public video, required keyword or tag, deadline and time zone, whether replies count, and whether each account gets one entry or one entry per comment.

Use the same rule set for every participant. The spreadsheet should apply the rules, not invent them after the campaign closes.

1. Copy the public video link

Open the giveaway post in TikTok and choose Share > Copy link. TokSift works with public videos. Private, friends-only, deleted, or otherwise unavailable videos cannot be exported.

2. Export the available comments

Open the TikTok Comment Exporter and paste the public video link. Download the available comments as Excel or CSV. If replies are valid giveaway entries, enable replies so the data keeps the parent-comment relationship.

The export gives you rows you can filter and review, including comment text, timestamps, comment and parent IDs, like and reply counts, plus available author information. That is more reliable than repeatedly scrolling the in-app thread.

3. Preserve the source file

Keep the original download unchanged. Make a working copy with a clear name, such as spring-giveaway-entries-2026-09-29.xlsx. This gives you a reference if you need to explain how an entry was handled.

4. Build a review sheet

Add a few columns to the working copy:

Column What it records
valid_entry Yes or No after review
reason Missing keyword, duplicate account, late entry, or another rule
unique_account The account used for one-entry-per-person checks
draw_number A random value used only after eligibility is final

Filter the rows for the required keyword when relevant. Check timestamps against the deadline. When one entry per account is allowed, define a repeatable duplicate rule—for example, keep the earliest valid comment from each account—and apply it equally.

A comment does not automatically prove an off-platform condition, such as following an account. Only verify what your rules and public evidence actually allow you to verify.

5. Select and record the winner

Once the eligible list is final, assign each eligible row a random number in the spreadsheet and sort from smallest to largest. Record the export date, total reviewed rows, eligible rows, the rule set, and the selected row. Use the same process for alternates.

For prize promotions, make sure your published terms explain eligibility, timing, winner selection, and contact method. Follow applicable platform rules and local requirements.

Turn the giveaway into useful research

The export is useful after the draw too. It can show recurring questions, language customers use, and points of confusion in the campaign. Review the results with the TikTok Comment Analyzer, then use the findings to improve future posts. For more workflows, browse the TokSift guides.

FAQ

Can I export TikTok giveaway comments to Excel?

Yes. Paste a public giveaway video link into TokSift and export available comments as Excel or CSV for review.

Can replies count as entries?

That depends on your published rules. If they count, enable replies during export and apply the same eligibility rules to every entry.

Does a comment export verify every giveaway requirement?

No. It organizes public comment data; it cannot by itself prove conditions not visible in the comments.

Why can the export count differ from TikTok's displayed count?

Some comments may be deleted, filtered, unavailable, or inaccessible. Keep the source export and apply the written rules to entries you can review.
