Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about accounts, data handling and billing. Questions about a specific tool are answered on that tool’s own page. Paid plans are not open for purchase yet — the free tier works today.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is needed to export comments or view them. Signing in with Google is only required for background exports of very large comment sets, because those keep running after you close the page and the cost has to be attributable to someone.
How does credit billing work?
Paid plans are not open for purchase yet, so nothing is billed today. The free tier covers up to 2,000 comments per video. When billing does open, one credit will equal one comment actually retrieved — not the number TikTok displays — and failed exports will not be charged.
What happens to my credits if an export fails halfway?
Partial exports are clearly marked: the CSV ends with a line stating how many comments were retrieved out of the total and why it stopped. Since paid plans are not open yet, nothing is deducted for any export.
Do you store the comments I export?
Synchronous exports stream straight to your browser and are never written to our storage. Background exports are stored for seven days so you can re-download them, then deleted. We do not build a persistent database of comment authors, and we do not sell or share exported data.
Are my AI analysis reports private?
Reports are generated on demand and returned only to the browser that requested them. We do not store them, and there is no public sharing feature today.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
There are no subscriptions yet — paid plans are not open for purchase. When they are, you will be able to cancel from your account settings and keep access until the end of the billing period.
Do you offer refunds?
Nothing is charged today, so there is nothing to refund. Once paid plans open, an export that fails or returns unusable data will be refunded on request within 14 days.
Is TokSift affiliated with TikTok?
No. TokSift is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance. We only access publicly visible content.
Can I use exported data under GDPR?
Comments contain personal data such as usernames. If you store or process exported data for users in the EU or UK, you are the data controller and are responsible for having a lawful basis, honouring deletion requests and limiting retention. We recommend anonymising author fields when you only need the comment text.
